Simplifying hip accounts

Since the beginning, hip offered an optional free account to backup and share your list of events.

As part of making hip more simple and easy to use, we are retiring this type of accounts, which is based on phone numbers. Instead, hip is now able to utilize your iCloud account for the same purposes of backup and sharing your event list, offering a more straightforward, secure and hassle free way to achieve the same.

What does this mean for you?

• If you previously created a backup with your hip account, you could access it via the app until December 31st, 2019. Starting January 1st, 2020, these older accounts and backups will be inaccessible.

• To create a new backup with iCloud, make sure you have the latest hip on your Apple device (hip version 8.49 or later). Open the app, go to the last tab, and choose "Backup & Restore". hip will guide you from there.

Other than these changes hip stays the same! We are excited to continue helping you surprise and delight your friends and family on important events in their life. Connecting and strengthening these relationships is what helps promote happiness, and that's the reason we created hip for.
